Gerry Rafferty had a string of successful hit songs in the '70's as part of the rock duo Stealers Wheel ("Stuck In The Middle With You" #6 Pop, 1973) and as a solo artist ("Baker Street" #2, 1978). He recorded a total of ten solo albums in his career with "City to City" (1978) being noteworthy for selling over 5 million copies worldwide. His last album, "Life Goes On" (2009) included 6 previously unreleased tracks as well 12 remasters of his favorite tracks from his last 3 full-length albums. Rafferty was admitted to hospital in November with liver failure. He passed away at the age of 63.
