Metallica now holds the record for the most albums sold in the last 20 years (in the U.S.). Metallica's self-titled album was released the summer of 1991. It features the tracks "Enter Sandman" , "The Unforgiven" & "Nothing Else Matters". It was certified 15x platinum in 2009. It's also worth noting that the newest album on this list is from the year 2000, eleven years ago. Further evidence of how much record sales have eroded.
