Your Workout Playlist - Fall Edition

It's nearing the end of the year and if you haven't kept your 2010 resolution to get in shape, it's not too late. Adding a small amount of creativity to your workout playlist will help you in making your workout a little more enjoyable. And it may even motivate you to actually workout!

Here are 3 important questions you have to ask yourself when creating a great workout playlist.

1) Do you like the song?
If you don't like the song, why the heck are you listening to it in the first place?

2) Is it upbeat? is it repetitive? does it make you move?
Repetition in life is boring, except when it comes to running or working out. A groovy repetitive beat helps you to maintain time and pace. I don't recommend any songs longer than 5-6mins. If you have individual songs playing longer than that you feel less motivated. Shorter songs give you the sense of accomplishment and when a new song comes on, you're sometimes rewarded with a new burst of energy to keep up with the new beat.

3) Does the song uplift, inspire or make you feel good?
We all can't afford our own Personal Trainers, so the music's got to be the inspiration for us. Find music that empowers and motivates you to keep pushing forward!
