SONG OF THE WEEK - "If You Want To" & "Head For The Hills" by Griffin House

"If You Want To" by Griffin House

"If you want to be the one to be loved
You've got to be the one giving it up
If you want to be the one to be kissed
You got to be the one taken the risk
If you want to be the one who gets high
You got set your sights up in the sky..."

This week's Song(s) of the Week is a double shot of Griffin House. Based out of Nashville, TN, House is a singer-songwriter-musician who has been recording music since 2002. "If You Want To" is an easy going mid-tempo pop/rock song infused with a little life advice. An excellent track.

You can find "If You Want To" on the album "The Learner" (2010) or you can download it @ iTunes.

"Head For The Hills" by Griffin House

"We're in a war zone and here comes the tanks
Here comes those tanks
Make this something that she can lean on
Tell me something I can believe
We got kids in the war and we're letting them go
We got oil in the Gulf of Mexico
Killing us, spilling out, watching them die
God stands by with a tear in his eye..."

"Head For The Hills" is a fitting anthem for the socially conscience. A song that speaks about the state of the world today (the Gulf Coast, Nashville Flood). It's dark and moody, but never bleak. Truth in words: "One love, one heart, one hope, one peace". Brilliant.

"Head For The Hills" is available as a download only @ iTunes.
