CMW - So Many Artists, So Little Time

Canadian Music Week was a resounding success. Over 800 artists performing over 5 nights at some of Toronto's hottest clubs and venues. I had the opportunity to attend a few events during the festival and one of the highlights was the Songwriter's Circle Session which featured Randy Bachman, Emmylou Harris, Gordie Sampson ("Jesus, Take The Wheel", "Sunburn") and Bob DiPeiro ("Southern Voice", "Blue Clear Sky") and was moderated by Paul Williams ("Evergreen", "Rainbow Connection"). The artists spoke about their songwriting technique and performed 3 individual songs from their own catalog of music.

The indie rock band, These Electric Lives electrified audiences at 3 venues during the festival (Lee's Palace, Underground Garage, El Mocambo). Check out their music

The four brothers who make up the Toronto based rock band Fairchild, put on a stellar acoustic jam at The Royal York Hotel as well an electric set on Saturday night at Cherry Cola's Rock N' Rolla Cabaret. You can download their song "Dare To Believe" for free @ www.fairchildrocks.com .
