R.I.P. Clarence Clemons (1942-2011)


Clarence Clemons, one of the greatest and most distinguished saxophone players of all time has passed away after suffering complications from a stroke he had on June 12. Clemons was part of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band since 1972 and was nicknamed 'The Big Man'. Clemons also worked on several side musical projects including three albums with Temple of Soul and three solo albums. His 1985 album Hero included the top 20 hit duet with Jackson Browne called "You're A Friend Of Mine". That same year he also appeared on Aretha Franklin's "Freeway Of Love". 

Clemons was also an actor who appeared in several films (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) and television series (The Wire). He made his acting debut in Martin Scorsese's New York, New York (1977). Most recently Clemons can be heard on three tracks taken from Lady Gaga's album Born This Way (2011), "The Edge Of Glory", "Hair" & 
"Highway Unicorn (Road To Love)".
